 أحيانا نستخدم most بدون the قبل الصفة بمعنى very .

 لاحظ أننا نقول the farthest ….from / the nearest ……to

5- Read the following passage, then answer the questions:
At a height of 8850 meters, Mount Everest is the world’s largest mountain. Mount Everest is still growing a few millimeters every year! It is in the mountain range called the Himalayas. The summit ridge سلسلة of Mount Everest separates يفصل Nepal and Tibet. Each of these two countries has a special name for this giant mountain. The Nepalese name is ‘Sagarmatha’, which means ‘goddess آلهة of the sky’. The Tibetan name is ‘Chomolungma’, which means ‘mother goddess of the universe الكون’. In English, Mount Everest is named after Sir George Everest, the first person to record the height and location موقع of the mountain.
A climb to the summit قمةwas attempted يحاول by George Mallory in 1922, who famously gave his reason for wanting to climb Everest as, “Because it’s there”. He attempted to reach the summit again in the company بصحبة of Andrew Irvine in 1924, but it was on this trip that both climbers disappeared.

2001, more than 1400 people have climbed Mount Everest. Since the first ascent in 1953, more than 600 climbers from 20 different countries have reached the summit. A few months ago, the pilot of a small plane had an unusual flight. A strong wind blew the plane sideways, and it touched the top of a tree. Both wheels of the plane were knocked off but the plane did not crash.
The pilot sent a radio message to the airport. He did not know how to land without wheels. The airport controller promised to help the pilot. He telephoned the airport firemen and told them what to do.
A fireman saw a long open lorry. It was waiting at the airport building to collect some goods. The fireman borrowed it and drove to one end of the airport runway. Then he turned round and waited for the plane to come. The airport controller sent a radio message to the pilot. He told him to land on top of the lorry. The fireman drove quickly along the runway and the pilot flew down to land. Luckily, he managed to land on the lorry. Part of the lorry was damaged and the tail of the plane was broken but nobody was injured. The fireman slowed the lorry down and then stopped. The pilot was very grateful. He gladly agreed to pay for the damage of the lorry.
