 إذا انتهى الفعل بـ sh / ch / ss / x /o نضيف للفعل es مع الفاعل مفرد غائب

 إذا انتهى الفعل بحرف y مسبوق بحرف ساكن تحذف ونضيف ies

 فى حالة النفى Negation

1- نستخدم ( don't) قبل الفعل الذى لا ينتهى بـ (s / es)

2- نستخدم ( doesn’t) قبل الفعل الذى ينتهى بـ (s / es) وتحذف (s / es)
- He reads many novels every night.

3- نحول sometimes – always – often – usually – occasionally الى never

 فى حالة تكوين سؤال باستخدام أداة استفهام نستخدم

أداة إستفهام + do / does + الفاعل + الفعل فى المصدر……….…?


نستخدم الفعل المساعد ( do) مع ( I - you - we – they )
نستخدم الفعل المساعد ( does) مع ( he - she - it )
- Where do you work? - When does he work?

 فى حالة تكوين سؤال بمعنى "هل" نستخدم
Do / Does + الفاعل + الفعل فى المصدر……….…?
- Do you work in Cairo? Yes, I do. No, I don't.
- Does he work in Cairo? Yes, he does. No, he doesn't.
إذا وجدنا verb to be (am/is/are) فى الجملة نستخدمه ولانستخدم do / does
- What is his job?

 عند تحويل جملة فى زمن المضارع البسيط من مبنى للمعلوم active إلى مبنى
للمجهول passive نستخدم:

Object مفعول + am / is / are + p.p.

- Somebody cleans this room every day. (This room…….)
This room is cleaned every day.
- They make American cars in Detroit. (American cars……..)
American cars are made in Detroit.

 Usage: الاستخدام

 يستخدم المضارع البسيط للتعبير عن حقيقةfact
- The sun shines in the day.

 يستخدم المضارع البسيط للتعبير عن عادة habit أو حدث متكرر repeated action
- I walk to school every day.

 يعبر المضارع البسيط عن حالة أو موقف حقيقى دائم true situation
- I live in Cairo.

 يستخدم المضارع البسيط مع الظروف الزمنية الآتية وتأتى فى نهاية الجملة أو أولها
every day/ every week / every year/ twice a week / twice a month /
on Sundays / on Fridays

- Rania goes to the club every Monday.
- Every Monday Rania goes to the club.
 يستخدم المضارع البسيط مع ظروف التكرار و تأتى:
أ-قبل الفعل الأصلى ب-بعد verb to be
always دائماً - usually عادةً - often غالباً - sometimes أحياناً –
not often - rarely نادراً - never أبداً – ever – frequently - occasionally
- I sometimes walk to school. - I never drive into town.
- I am never late for school. - She is always tired in the evenings.
 لاحظ أنه يمكن استخدام usually / sometimes أول الجملة أو أخرها
- Usually I walk to school. I cycle to school sometimes.
 بعض الأفعال عادة لا تستخدم فى الأزمنة المستمرة مثل
believe / forget / hate / know / like / see / understand / want
- I know what you mean. I am knowing what you mean.

Past Simple Tense زمن الماضى البسيط

? يتكون الماضى البسيط من التصريف الثانى للفعل.

? هى الأفعال التى يضاف لها ed مثل:

 فى حالة تكوين سؤال باستخدام أداة استفهام نستخدم

أداة إستفهام + did + الفاعل + الفعل فى المصدر……….…?

فى حالة تكوين سؤال بمعنى "هل" نستخدم

Did + الفاعل + الفعل فى المصدر……….…?

- Did he buy a new car? Yes, he did. No, he didn't.
? يتم تحويل زمن الماضى البسيط إلى مبنى للمجهول passive كما يلى:
object مفعول + was / were + pp + by + subject فاعل

- Shakespeare wrote Hamlet. (Hamlet)
Hamlet was written by Shakespeare.

@ Usage: الاستخدام
?يعبر الماضى البسيط عن حدث بدأ و انتهى فى الماضى.
- He drove into town yesterday.
? يستخدم الماضى البسيط لوصف أحداث تتبع بعضها فى قصة
- He got into his car and drove into town.
?يعبر الماضى البسيط عن عادات و أفعال متكررة فى الماضى.
- He drove into town every day last week.
?غالبا ما نستخدم used to للتعبير عن عادة أو موقف فى الماضى.

?يستخدم الماضى البسيط مع الكلمات الآتية:

6- Read the following passage, then answer the questions:
Elizabeth Blackwell was born in England in 1821, and emigrated هاجرت to New York city when she was ten years old. One day she decided that she wanted to become a doctor. That was nearly impossible for a woman in the middle of the nineteenth century. After writing many letters seeking تبحث عن admission القبول to medical schools, she was finally accepted by a doctor in Philadelphia. So determined مصممة was she that she taught at school and gave music lessons to earn money for her tuition تعليم.
In 1849, after graduation التخرج from medical school, she decided to further her education in Paris. She wanted to be a surgeon, but a serious eye infection forced her to give up the idea.
Upon returning to the United States, she found it difficult to start her own practice because she was a woman. By 1857 Elizabeth and her sister, also a doctor, along with another female doctor, managed to open a new hospital, the first for women and children. Besides being the first female physician and founding her own hospital, she also established the first medical school for women.
